Finn Hall

Food Hall Design & Development

The ask

Finn Hall in Houston Texas is a 25,000 sf facility with 10 restaurants and two bars. This food hall is in the financial district of downtown Houston. Our role was to guide the entire process including the design, branding, development, operator selection and onboarding, equipment specification and design, music selection, signage. We assembled a great team for this project including Street Sense Architects, Guerilla Suit Creative, Singer Equipment, Jonathan Osborne Curation, and a lot of other artisans and vendors that it takes to complete a large project like this.

The Process

Finn Hall is located within an iconic art deco building and takes its vibe from This food hall is not your typical food court. The food stalls are spaced in a layout that encourages wandering and discovery. The mezzanine bar “Swallows Nest” is a hidden gem where full service is available from all the food stalls.

In addition to Finn Hall, We have designed several food halls that were all in different stages of development when the pandemic hit. All were put on hold for good reason. Since that time, very few food halls have been built. The model wasn’t easy before and it hasn't bounced back. I think it’s very clear that for food halls to work they need to change. Here is an article I wrote on this topic. Food Halls need to change to come out of this alive.
